Almost every unhappy balloon order is a timing problem, not a product problem. Here is the real schedule so you can plan backwards from your date.

The clock starts at artwork approval

Not at order. This is the single most misunderstood point in the whole process.

You order, we produce a proof, you approve it, then production starts. Three to seven days of manufacturing, then two to five business days on UPS Ground from North Carolina.

If your artwork needs a revision, that happens before the clock starts at all. Allow for one.

Working backwards from a date

  • 3 weeks out — Order. Comfortable, with room for an artwork revision.
  • 2 weeks out — Possible, but everything has to go right first time.
  • 10 days out — Ask us. Sometimes yes, and we will tell you honestly.
  • Under a week — A blank sphere can often still make it. A lettered blimp will not.
  • Any time — Sort the helium. That is what actually fails at the last minute.

Why domestic manufacturing is the whole reason

Most advertising balloons sold in the United States are imported. That means a container and a lead time nobody can compress once the order is placed.

We build in North Carolina, which is why two weeks is possible at all. It costs more to manufacture here and it is the difference between hitting your grand opening and missing it.

What actually causes last-minute failures

Helium, not shipping.

You buy it locally from a welding-gas or industrial-gas supplier, about $300 per 200 cubic foot cylinder. They keep business hours. If your event is Saturday and you think about gas on Friday afternoon, the balloon cannot save you.

Open the supplier account the same day you place the order. Ask about cylinder rental terms while you are on the phone.
